Contrary to popular belief, the men’s fashion industry holds a 41.7% share of the Indian apparel market. Yet, only a handful of brands focus their attention on bringing that much-needed diversity in fashion that men deserve. This is where Snitch comes in.

Founded in January 2019, Snitch is a men’s apparel brand that focuses on crafting clothing specifically for the fashion-forward, modern men of today. Originally a B2B business, Snitch now serves direct-to-consumer via its website across 20+ states in India.

Snitch Boards The GoShip

In a pursuit to offer its customers a seamless checkout experience and reduce the current high RTO rate, Snitch needed a strategic partner to solve these pressing issues. This is when they found GoKwik.

After learning about GoKwik’s Kwik Checkout and RTO Protection Suite, Snitch realised that the two solutions could collectively help them,

The Problem Statement

In a short period of its existence, Snitch has built an excellent fashion line for men and a query website for users to explore and shop. However, conversion is a massive problem for most D2C brands trying to compete with the industry behemoths. And, Snitch is no different.

The brand realised that its checkout process was not as smooth as it must be, and hence, was witnessing conversion leakages at various checkout stages.

Meanwhile, most shoppers were placing cash on delivery (COD) orders which was causing an increase in return-to-origin rate (RTO rate). Due to this, Snitch was sceptical of offering COD as a payment option in most locations it served.

Solution: The Solution

Here are the solutions that were implemented and their overall impact.

The Kwik Checkout Solution – Implementation

Across the entire checkout, GoKwik leveraged its “Industry’s fastest checkout with in-build risk intelligence” to help Snitch offer a seamless purchasing experience to its customers.

This meant, after a shopper added a product to their cart, they could directly select a payment method of their choice and move ahead. Once done, a pop-up window would open on the same page asking shoppers to complete the purchase, rather than redirecting them to multiple pages.

Herein, GoKwik embedded three functionalities to ensure a swift, end-to-end purchase.

  • 1. Login Via SSO Token Or Truecaller: Login is one of the most critical steps where maximum drop-offs happen. To reduce abandonments here, GoKwik inserted two quick login options.
  • SSO Token login powered by GoKwik’s Network Effect allows returning shoppers to auto-login on the platform without entering any phone number, OTP, or password.
  • One-tap Verification feature powered by Truecaller helps verify the identity of a new shopper and allows them to login with a single click.
  • 2. Address Pre-fill: After login, this is another stage where a major chunk of abandonments takes place. To sort this issue, GoKwik uses its Address pre-fill feature.

Using its vast network of data, GoKwik pre-fills a shopper’s address which,

  • Reduces the overall checkout time
  • Increases the chances of conversions

Gokwik also gives shoppers the convenience to add a new address in just a couple of seconds by auto-filling 40% of the form with just a pin code entry. This,

  • Reduces the hesitation and frustration of adding a new address
  • Makes the journey more simple and seamless
  • 3. Dynamic Discounting & Offer Display Discounts help keep shoppers enticed and avail additional rebates on each purchase. Meanwhile, they help brands earn more conversions. Keeping this in mind GoKwik enabled Snitch to offer discounts to shoppers at multiple stages. At Checkout – Discounts are often scattered and shoppers have to do a lot of back and forth to find and implement them. To reduce friction, shoppers can select and apply discounts at the time of checkout itself. While Making Payment – Shoppers could further avail more discounts by placing a prepaid order, such as by paying via UPI. 4. Seamless Payment Process: From Snitch’s data, GoKwik found that most shoppers were placing cash-on-delivery orders. This was a major cause of the brand’s high RTO rate, causing revenue leakage. To fix this and increase prepaid conversions, GoKwik, alongside Snitch, added fee of INR 100/- on every COD order placed.

As the last step, GoKwik also enabled Snitch to offer multiple payment methods including UPI, wallets, cards, pay later, and net banking to ensure shoppers found a payment option of their choice and proceeded to pay.

  • 5. Recover Abandoned Carts: Besides the above-mentioned Kwik Checkout Solutions, GoKwik also enabled abandoned cart recovery features on Snitch’s side. This meant, every time a customer abandoned their cart at any stage of their purchase, they were duly sent a communication via WhatsApp. Such nudges helped

The Kwik Checkout Solution – Result

Snitch witnessed,

  • Overall checkout page conversions increased by ~40%
  • Time taken to login by leveraging Truecaller improved by 19 seconds
  • Increase in address pre-fills by 65%
  • An upliftment of 34% in address pre-fill conversions


The RTO Protection Suite – Implementation

Besides end-to-end optimising Snitch’s checkout process, there was also a need to identify high-risk shoppers with low shopping intent to minimise the revenue loss resulting from RTOs.

For this, GoKwik implemented its RTO Protection Suite. Here’s how the AI-ML-powered model worked,

  • Study a shopper’s behaviour and buying history
  • Filter them based on their likelihood of cancelling the order before delivery
  • Classify them as high, mid, or low-risk users, where high-risk means shoppers with the least intention of making a purchase
  • Sending risk flags against high-risk users to Snitch for them to decide whether or not to accept the order(s)
  • Enabled a COD-confirmation prompt on the payments window to reduce the number of impulsive buyings and resulting RTOs

The RTO Protection Suite – Result

Snitch saw,

  • RTO rate containment at 23% throughout
  • An increase in pin code serviceability across the nation by 66%
  • An overall 182% increase in gross merchandise value (GMV) than before
