About AdilQadri

Launched in 2018 AdilQadri is a premium fragrance brand that’s most known for its lavish and exclusive range of non-alcoholic Attars. In less than half a decade, the brand has introduced more than 100 types of unisex Attars and a diversified range of products catering to the faith of the Indian Islamic community.

The Problem Statement

On average, every D2C brand operating in the Indian eCommerce market focuses much of its attention on creating a customer-centric website and invests heavily on marketing activities. However, not many realise that a shopper’s actual journey starts after they add products to their cart and click on Checkout.

A customer finds it daunting to go through multiple steps, create an account, add necessary order details, enter payment details, etc., before they can finally place an order. According to many studies, for every 1 second extra spent on checkout, there’s a 7% drop off and a brand stands on the verge of losing a major chunk of its potential sales.

Adil Qadri, the owner of “AdilQadri: The House Of Premium Fragrances,” was facing the same issue. He realised that even though the platform was witnessing a steady increase in traffic, most people were abandoning their carts due to a lengthy and tedious order placement process.

Here’s how the old checkout process looked like

The brand wanted to solve this pressing issue and find an effective, robust, and long-term solution to reduce cart abandonments and increase conversions

GoKwik’s Solution For AdilQadri

GoKwik sat with AdilQadri’s team to understand their pressing concerns and created a custom checkout solution for the brand.
Here’s what the new checkout process looked like.


Across the entire checkout process, GoKwik leveraged its first-in-industry ‘Two-click Checkout’ solution to ensure a shopper completed the entire journey in a matter of 1-2 minutes.

This means after a shopper added products to their cart, they could directly select a payment method of their choice and complete the purchase.

Once they selected a payment option, say ‘Pay via UPI/COD,’ a pop up window opened rather than redirecting them to a new page. Interestingly, a shopper was able to complete their entire checkout process while staying on the same pop-up window itself.

1. Faster Login Process

GoKwik embedded two login functionalities on the website.
1.GoKwik’s single-sign-on (SSO) feature called the GoKwik Network Effect would help a returning shopper to auto-login on the platform
2.One-tap Verification feature powered by Truecaller that would help verify a new shopper’s identity and enable them to login with a single click.
The two features together would help reduce login page drop-offs to a great extent.

2. Address Pre-fill

Here, GoKwik used its vast network of data to pre-fill a shopper’s address, which,
  • Reduced a step in the shopper’s buying journey
  • Increased the chances of conversions

Shoppers could also conveniently add another address as per their convenience in not more than 10 seconds on the platform. They were also given an option to further apply discount codes to avail additional deductions on the total amount.

3. Seamless Payment Process

From AdilQadri’s data, GoKwik realised that a major chunk of the shoppers primarily opted for cash-on-delivery (COD). This increased the brand’s risk of high return-to-origins (RTO).

To reduce the risk of RTOs, GoKwik enabled AdilQadri to offer an additional discount to shoppers who opted in for UPI payments than COD. They hypothesised that this would lure shoppers to make more prepaid purchases, hence, reduce the brand’s RTO rate.

As the last step, GoKiwk embedded a simple UPI payment process wherein a shopper could either select a UPI payment mode to make the payment (no need to enter a UPI ID for verification) or scan the QR code to complete the purchase. They could also request a payment link to pay via any other prepaid mode.

The overall process – from checkout to payment – was completed in a matter of 1-2 minutes as opposed to what the previous time ratio suggested.

The Result

Soon after the implementation of GoKwik’s lightning-fast Checkout solution, AdilQadri witnessed the following.

  • Overall checkout page conversions increased by 66.6%
  • Login page drop-offs reduced from 42% to 31%
  • Address prefill conversion uplifted by 47%
  • UPI payments increased from 5% to 20%
  • Prepaid orders increased from 5% to 45%
  • Overall RTO Reduced From 30% To 18%

The reduced steps in the checkout process not only enhanced a shopper’s buying journey but prompted them to complete the purchase without any hesitation.

Additional Solutions

Owing to the success of GoKwik’s lightning-fast Checkout solution, GoKwik is now exploring the means to further increase prepaid conversions even after the checkout process ends. The new feature will offer shoppers another chance to convert their COD payments into prepaid ones and stand a chance to avail additional discounts.

The objective is to help AdilQadri reduce its current COD orders percentage from 75% to further down in the coming months.
