The Problem Statements

Since its inception, Be Bodywise has wholeheartedly been accepted by Indian women. They’ve found a sanctuary where many have begun their wellness journeys and experienced the intended difference.

From a brand’s perspective, Be Bodywise has seen a widespread adoption of its products and its sales numbers prove so. However, in the era of direct-to-consumer, the brand saw some reluctance from customers while they shopped from its D2C website. Shoppers were placing a higher number of cash on delivery orders than prepaid ones. Meanwhile, their prepaid share of wallet from other sources including marketplaces was significantly more than the COD counterpart.

The high number of cash on delivery orders were further resulting in heightened return-to-origins (RTOs), eating away the brand’s profits.

While the brand was focusing its energies on spreading awareness and building customer trust for its D2C website, it sure needed some effective solutions to bring down the ever increasing RTO rate. In the pursuit of finding an effective solution, Be Bodywise got introduced to GoKwik’s Smart COD Suite.

The GoKwik Solution

Smart COD Suite is one such solution engineered by GoKwik to help eCommerce brands tackle their RTO concerns in the most effective and efficient manner.

In the case of Be Bodywise, the suite proved to be highly efficacious and fruitful.

Built on two of the most sought-after technologies - artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Smart COD Suite leverages risk intelligence to identify inefficacies.

On Be Bodywise’s website, the suite analysed the brand’s data, studied customer performance and their behaviour, and suggested the implementation of a mix of low- and high-degree interventions to solve the problem at the root.

These interventions were strategically placed across numerous pincode, at order level, product level, and across UTMs, which helped the brand to,

  • Weed out shoppers with low buying intent
  • Prompt shoppers to think twice before placing a COD-led order
  • Convert cash on delivery orders into prepaid ones to reduce the risk of RTO

Basis the existing problem, the intervention mix primarily included the following.

1. COD Blocking - as the name suggests, COD blocking allowed be Bodywise to identify shoppers with low buying intent and block them from placing cash on delivery orders. In other words, when such shoppers landed on the payment page, they were not shown the COD option at all.

2. COD Prompt - With this intervention, GoKwik nudged shoppers on Be Bodywise’s platform to confirm their cash on delivery orders once before they proceeded ahead. They were also shown an option to pay via a digital payment mode. The idea was to make the shoppers think twice before they placed a COD order.

3. COD Captcha & reCaptcha - By enabling Captcha & reCaptcha feature, GoKwik enabled Be Bodywise to keep low intent shopper and bots from placing repeated or fake orders

Besides this, owing to GoKwik's intuitive dashboard, folks at Be Bodywise were also able to smartly map their orders using GoKwik’s AWB end state feature. The functionality helped the brand to identify whether its orders were,

  • In transit
  • Delivered
  • Cancelled
  • Returned to origin
  • Returned (after delivery)

With such in-depth information, the brand was able to keep a close check on the status of all orders dispatched. This data further allowed Be Bodywise to take necessary actions such as going aggressive on interventions, sending follow ups to customers who cancelled the orders, retargeting customers with successful deliveries and so on.

The Result

Since the implementation of Smart COD Suite on Be Bodywise website, the brand witnessed significant improvement across many essential business metrics.

  • A 15% reduction in RTO rate
  • AWB end state accuracy increased from 80% to 98%
  • Total business GMV uplifted by 14.72%
